Division 2: The New "Cocks" on the Block

In the summer of 2022, after several years of continued club growth, South Carolina Club Baseball announced the addition of new roster to compete at the Division 2 level of the NCBA. This marked an exciting new chapter in club history, as USC Club Baseball joined a short list of blue blood programs that have teams competing in both leagues! The club has expanded to rival the best in the country such as Florida, UCF, Penn State, and Ohio State just to name a few! While the D1 squad remains the club's flagship team, the D2 provides more talented ballplayers the opportunity to participate, compete, and develop their skills. The D2 "Club Cocks" compete in the Dixie Region - North Conference alongside Campbell, Craven, Duke, High Point, and Wake Forest.

On June 28, 2021, the D2 team was formed out of the existing South Carolina Club Baseball program. From the beginning, the club exercised a "one club - two teams" mentality. Unlike other schools around the country with multiple teams, the D2 team did not branch off as a separate entity. Both D1 and D2 teams share the same governing board, social calendar, and even participate in joint practices. The club has found this structure to improve overall comradery while adding competitive wrinkles to each practice. In addition, the NCBA permits up to three call ups/downs between the two teams each year.
