Division 1: The Original "Club Cocks"

The original "Club Cocks" were established in 2009 by a group of baseball rabid students at the University of South Carolina. Shortly, after their conception, they were accepted into the D2 level of the National Club Baseball Association (NCBA), the nation's fastest growing collegiate league. The first game in club history was played on February 12, 2011 against the Georgia Bulldogs at Polo Road Park (Columbia, SC). After tearing through the D2 ranks, the squad was called up to the Division 1 level in the summer of 2011. They were placed in the South Atlantic Region - East Conference, where they still reside today. Many conference opponents have come and gone, but the Clemson-Carolina matchup has remained, and it is just as (or at times more) intense than the game on the gridiron. Carolina has not lost to the Tigers since 2019! As of the 2022 season, other conference members include UNC Charlotte, Coastal Carolina, and Tennessee.

In 2013, their second year at the D1 level, the Gamecocks captured the first winning season in club history with an impressive 14-10 (12-6) record! The team continues to improve year after year through a combination of new talent and veteran leadership. As of the start of the 2022 season, the team's overall conference record is 55-52 with a .497 overall winning percentage. In recent seasons, the D1 team has found its greatest successes. In 2018 and 2019, the club won back to back Greenville Invitational Tournaments, defeating regional opponents, App State and Coastal Carolina. Their best year came during in the pandemic-shortened campaign in 2020, where the "Club Cocks" defeated rivals Georgia, Tennessee, and Clemson to control first place in the standings with an 8-1 record.

In the summer of 2021, after several years of continued club growth, South Carolina Club Baseball announced the addition of new roster to compete at the Division 2 level of the NCBA. This marked an exciting new chapter in club history, as USC Club Baseball joined a short list of blue blood programs that have teams competing in both leagues! The club has expanded to rival the best in the country such as Florida, UCF, Penn State, and Ohio State just to name a few! While the D1 squad remains the club's flagship team, the D2 provides more talented ballplayers the opportunity to participate, compete, and develop their skills.
